At Identity Church, our heartbeat is to see you rooted in Christ and living from the place of His Presence. True success isn’t found in what we accomplish but in who we become as we walk closely with Jesus. To help you grow in Him, we’ve prepared eight practical steps with resources designed to strengthen your daily life with the Lord. Our prayer is that these truths lead you and your family into deeper intimacy with Jesus and a life shaped by His love.
Step 1
PRAY
Prayer isn’t complicated—it’s simply being with God. He’s not far away or hard to reach. He’s a loving Father who actually wants to be close, to speak with you, and to share life with you (Matthew 6:6, Revelation 3:20, 2 Corinthians 6:16–18). When you pray, you’re not talking into the air—you’re spending time with a real Person who knows you and loves you. Just step away from the noise, be real with Him, and speak from your heart. As you quiet yourself, you’ll begin to hear His voice. Walking in that kind of relationship with Jesus will change your life in ways you can’t even measure.

Step 2
READ THE BIBLE
We believe the Bible is God’s Word—breathed out by Him, given so we may know Him and walk in His ways. It’s not just another book; it is the foundation of our faith and the standard for how we live. Every time you open Scripture, God Himself is ready to speak with you. His Word is true nourishment for your soul (Matthew 4:4; Psalm 119:103).
The Holy Spirit is the fire, and the Word is the wood. Together, they ignite life in your walk with Christ. God’s Word will guide you, give you direction, and help you build the daily habit of hearing His voice.
Step 3
FASTING
Fasting isn’t about proving something to God—it’s about making room for Him. When you fast, you’re saying, “Jesus, You matter more than anything else.” It’s a way of stepping away from the noise and cravings of life so your heart can be still before Him. Fasting clears the clutter, helping you hear His voice more clearly and feel His presence more deeply (Matthew 6:16–18, Joel 2:12–13, Acts 13:2). It’s not about what you’re giving up—it’s about who you’re drawing near to. In the quiet and hunger, your spirit begins to feast on God Himself—and that’s where real transformation begins.

Step 4
GET BAPTIZED IN WATER
Jesus Himself gave us water baptism—it’s not just essential; it is powerful! When you step into the water, the Bible shows that something real happens:
-
You die with Jesus, leaving your old life behind (Romans 6:3)
-
You rise with Him into new life (Colossians 2:12)
-
Your heart is renewed and made whole (I Peter 3:21)
-
You receive the gift of the Holy Spirit (Acts 2:38)
-
You’re fully connected to the family of God
-
You’re joined to Jesus Himself, becoming one with Him (Galatians 3:26–27)
Step 5
COMMIT TO A LOCAL CHURCH
The church is the body of Christ, and Jesus is the head, guiding us every step of the way. Here, we gather not just to worship, but to serve, encourage, and lift one another up as we walk this life with Him. Truthfully, life with Jesus is meant to be lived in community (Ecclesiastes 4:9-12). When you commit to Him and to His people, you’ll experience real healing, growth, and strength.
If you’re already part of a church, give yourself fully to that community with your whole heart. But if you’re in Canton and searching for a place to belong, we would love to welcome you into the Identity Church family. Come join us—let’s grow together in Jesus!

Step 6
BE BAPTIZED WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT
You cannot live on yesterday’s oil. Seek the baptism of the Holy Spirit—and be filled every day.
The Holy Spirit is not distant or passive. He desires to move in your life, to lead your steps, and to empower you beyond your own ability. When Jesus walked the earth, every word He spoke and every work He did was carried by the Spirit. That same Spirit is ready to fill you now. The goal? Not fame or recognition—it is that the glory of Jesus would shine through you in every moment (John 16:13–14). You don’t have to strive or prove yourself. Simply open your heart, ask, and receive.
Step 7
GIVING
Giving isn’t about losing something—it’s about love overflowing. When you give, you’re reflecting the heart of God, who never stops giving to you. True generosity isn’t measured by the amount, but by the heart behind it (Mark 12:41–44, 2 Corinthians 9:6–8, Matthew 6:3–4). Giving quietly and joyfully opens your life to God’s abundance in ways you can’t see. Every act of generosity—whether time, money, or kindness—is a seed sown into eternity. When your heart is free from holding back, you begin to live in the flow of God’s goodness, where giving becomes pure joy.

Step 8
SHARE JESUS WITH OTHERS
One of the most powerful ways to grow your faith and keep your love for Jesus alive is by telling others what He’s done in your life. Sharing your story isn’t just encouragement—it’s part of the mission Jesus gave us: to take His message to everyone we meet (Mark 16:15). Every time you speak of His goodness, you spark hope and ignite faith—not just in your own heart, but in the lives of those around you. The great truth of the Gospel is this: you don’t have to be an evangelist, you just have to be a witness!
