Dear Identity family,

We are passionate about the future generation! Following Identity Church’s core values, we believe that discipleship happens in the home. However, we are honored to be a small part of the puzzle by connecting with and coming alongside families to encourage them to pursue Jesus and point them to the Word of God and the presence of Jesus on Sunday mornings.

At the moment, we are experiencing growth, which is very exciting and challenging at the same time. Our 1-5 grade class has reached its max capacity, and to accommodate more children, we need to split the class into two categories. We plan to make one classroom for 1-3 grade and another for 4-6. For this to happen, we need more volunteers.

As more new families join our church, we as an eldership want to ensure we are all on the same page. Our culture has always been for childcare volunteers to love Jesus and you. At the same time, as we share in caring for your children, we highly encourage your participation as parents in serving with Identity Kids.

As our biblical understanding and core value is that true discipleship of children is impossible without the participation of their parents, we have always sought parental involvement in their children’s spiritual training at Identity so that we, as church partners with parents to disciple children, are not attempting the impossible: disciplining their children for them.

If you are not serving with Identity Kids at the moment, please sign up this coming Sunday morning in the lobby to start the voluntary process with the Identity Kids’ ministry. Even if you’re not a parent but would like to serve the next generation, know you are welcome.

Many blessings and appreciation in Christ,

Kevin Kazemi
Lead Elder

Parent Information from Identity Kids ministry:

We are a servant-hearted volunteer-based team. The safety of the children entrusted to us is our priority. All volunteers interacting with children undergo an extensive interview and thorough background screening.

Please read the following policies and procedures carefully and let us know if you have any questions.

  • Every child receives a sticker ID and number upon check-in. If your child has a need or in the event of an emergency, the ID number will be displayed on the projector screens in the sanctuary, requesting you to report to their classroom. If an accident occurs, a report will be completed by the classroom volunteer. Parents are asked to respond promptly if their child’s number is displayed.
  • Toddlers can go through different stages, sometimes acting aggressively with one another. If this happens, we may request parental interaction to correct the behavior and move forward.
  • Please note parents are not permitted in classrooms unless on the volunteer schedule.
  • Parents and their children in 1st grade and older can watch the family talks video together and find each lesson by date along with the lesson theme. Please click the link: https://identitychurch.org/identity-kids/.
